Ellie Goulding is probably an unwitting contactee/experiencer.

The lyrics sound like she's waiting to be or trying to avoid being abducted by "lights" she sees in the sky at night. She tries to avoid them but can't. She tries to move but can't. She sings of telepathic communication, everyone around her sleeping during the encounter but she can't wake them up,  outer body experiences, feeling like you aren't sure if you are awake or dreaming, sleeping with all the lights on/sleeplessness, the solitary nature of most of the experiences, etc etc.
It's typical of my experiences, at least:

I had a way then losing it all on my own
I had a heart then but the queen has been overthrown
And I'm not sleeping now, the dark is too hard to beat
And I'm not keeping now, the strength I need to push me
You show the lights that stop me turn to stone
You shine it when I'm alone
And so I tell myself that I'll be strong
And dreaming when they're gone
'Cause they're calling, calling, calling me home
Calling, calling, calling home
You show the lights that stop me turn to stone
You shine it when I'm alone
Home
Voices, I play within my head
Touch my own skin and hope that I'm still breathing
And I think back to when my brother of my sister slept
In an unknown place the only time I feel safe
You show the lights that stop me turn to stone
You shine it when I'm alone
And so I tell myself that I'll be strong
And dreaming when they're gone
'Cause they're calling, calling, calling me home
Calling, calling, calling home
You show the lights that stop me turn to stone
You shine it when I'm alone
Home
Lights, lights, lights, lights
Lights, lights, lights, lights
(Home, home)
Lights, lights, lights, lights
Lights, lights
You show the lights that stop me turn to stone
You shine it when I'm alone
And so I tell myself that I'll be strong
And dreaming when they're gone
'Cause they're calling, calling, calling me home
Calling, calling, calling home
You show the lights that stop me turn to stone
You shine it when I'm alone
Home
(Nice "(ET) phone home" reference!)

Interesting that there are holograms at use in the video as well because that's how the beings (or whomever!) transmit concepts to me that are otherwise lengthy- they show me holographic images and then I get a beam of light flash quickly in my eyes and suddenly am downloaded with tons of information about things, science, people, places, languages, anything, basically, and while I don't have conscious access to some/most of it, it seems like I know it when I need to speak of it- the words pop out of my mouth effortlessly and I am astounded right along with the listener.

I don't know how that happens exactly, but I am not entirely trusting of it, never have been. I assume that its for assistance of the best, highest needs and interests of everyone involved, and so far it seems to be happening as such/that way. But I can never rely on it or trust it entirely. God knows I don't rely on it as the end-all, be-all, I remain open but skeptical of everything until a definitive answer is given.

Just saying that this lady was compelled to write a song about what sounds like an alien abduction and then lo and behold goes out and gets herself a red triangle tattoo.

Ellie Goulding's tat.

Remind any of you who follow this blog of anything much?
Triangle bruise I woke up with one morning on  right elbow along with 4" long scratch with no memory of  receiving either, 2008.

Another triangle bruise on my right arm with no memory of having received it, spring/summer of 2011.

The entertainment industry seem to be interested in triangle marks on skin lately:

Anyway, here's her explanation on the new body art:

British singer and songwriter Ellie Goulding has only one tattoo. Her tattoo is an outline of a triangle on the inside of her right wrist. Ellie loves triangles and she explained “Triangles are my favourite shape, three points where two lines meet.” Ellie Goulding fans might be aware of her love of triangles from her song “Wish I Stayed,” in which she sings “Why do I always draw triangles instead of the words this paper so deserves?”

She told GQ magazine “I got a random tattoo the other day. It’s a red triangle, which makes everyone think I’m arty, which I’m not. I used to draw red triangles all the time. It must mean something — maybe I don’t know it yet. But I’ll figure it out.
