Why People Who “Have It All” Commit Suicide
Wednesday, August 23, 2017
David Bowie Andy Warhol Lyrics
It's funny how someone with Asperger's Syndrome (a form of autism, where it's hard to read human facial expressions/emotion) had a pretty strong grasp of human psychology and behavior.
His variations on a theme, his fascination with mass production and how the subject matter was interchangeable with human beings may have been misunderstood. Instead of objectifying his subjects, his way of seeing seemed to be about taxonomies of persona- variations on a theme of the strikingly similar ways people who are programmed with backgrounds that are less than savory react to their environments.
I always saw his work as deeply compassionate.
Here were a bunch of messed up people yearning to be seen. The neglected, from the poor little rich girls to the most destitute and strung out of prostitutes and drag queens. He didn't care. He didn't individuate. He may have been in some cases, the ONLY person who "saw" them clearly. And they would have done anything for him because of that.

(This is how cults are formed, kiddies. Be careful with that.)
Unfortunately, trauma creates pretty predictable behaviors of self-destruction, compulsion, addiction, and in worse case scenarios, personality disorders.
In spite of that, he didn't judge. He let everyone in. A lot of damaged people in.
Which eventually would be to his detriment when, on June 4th, 1968, a disgruntled and severely mentally ill playwright by the name of Valerie Solanas entered his Union Square studio and shot him point blank with a .22 revolver.
He survived, but according to reports, was never the same again.
The observer became the traumatized, paranoid subject.
(If you want to see how much of a miracle it was that he survived, here is the incredible medical account:

Observing and understanding are not the same thing as processing. His downfall was ironically the same thing that allowed him to see so clearly, without judgement.
We must develop healthy boundaries. We must individuate. And why it's up to the individual to not judge the person, but the behavior, is up to us individually to do if we choose to do that. (I personally do.) But in addition to that, we must see, feel, process and protect our most precious gifts
***and not let anyone walk all over them***.
Blessings,

Slavoj Žižek: The Hegelian Wound
This is also really great as well. Funny timing (maybe it was in the ether)- this lecture at NYU given about five miles from where I live was conducted about two weeks after I posted this post but I didn't find it until today:
that for some reason out of the blue that I am not quite clear on why I posted it but had something to do with psychic awakening/how to be psychic. Yes, really.
I am of course advocating the end of the Hegelian dialectic, that it's a construct no longer suited to modernity, that it never really existed at all, which is funny because Zizek as a Lacanian is always reevaluating things as constructs and ideas that require a middle man like language or libido or metaphor to create or facilitate something as the catalyst, and uses Hegel to use trauma as a way to come out of it so you can understand it. I am positing something slightly different- it was never there to begin with. I'm not saying the trauma didn't exist, but that for the purposes of my perspective, the path to third eye awakening is to understand that if you are to open the third eye, you have to view it all in the spectrum like you are viewing the earth from space.
You can't take it too personally or attach identifiers to traumatic events as something that defines you. (Of course I am not perfect and I have plenty of things that have happened to me that it has indeed been a struggle to come out from under and not let it define me, and I still struggle with it daily.) But I think Zizek's viewpoint is worth viewing and definitely worth consideration for another perspective on Hegel, and I think a vital one.

I didn't know Zizek was a Hegelian (if he is at all?), but he is making me reevaluate his "godless" atheistic tendencies, there seems to be a very spiritual metaphysician of a sort laying in wait here that I like a lot.
(Especially his take on the link between Christianity, metaphysics and sex!)

System Re-victimizes, Pathologizes Victim, Sides with Offender, Abuser
Premise to interlude
Wait till all bones pretrude
You're convexed, you're convert
There is a stain on your shirt
Semi-sweet, seminude
The remorse you can't hide
Now we molt, past our skin
And make room to begin

Empathy, empathy, empathy

Down, down, cities fall down on me
Down, down, cities fall down on me
Down, down, cities fall down on me
Down, down, cities fall down on me
The final chrysalis
Self-controlled consciousness
Now it feels imminent
Done for your benefit
Eat right out of their hand
Its concaved all your glands
We're encouraged to forget
Preference to be force-fed

Is Nigella Lawson A Goddess? Russell Brand The Trews Ep28
"Imprinting" on the public of a "goddess" who has "fallen" sounds more occult ritual than you are willing at present to admit, Russell! Call it what it is- you never ask WHY the ritual is taking place in the first place. Why does it repeatedly happen again and again and again in the media? Why are so many "Gods" and "Goddesses" offered up in continual ritual "sacrifice" then? If not literally, then metaphorically? Either way sounds like a magickal working whether or not you choose to actually use the term.
But good for you for pointing out the Lion and the (chained) Unicorn and the media's job in all that.
